JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

Job Title:  INCOMING INSPECTOR

Code:  44-75-00-160-704

Summary/Objective: The Incoming Inspector is responsible for inspection of advanced products upon receipt from Samtec’s suppliers and to ensure that they meet product specification drawing using a variety of test methods/instruments.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect, test, and/or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications. (True position, cross sectioning)
  2. Read and interpret complex blueprints for advanced products (ex. Xcede, Firefly, RF), supplier datasheets, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures required.
  3. Disposition materials with details regarding accept/reject status.
  4. Use various systems to record inspection measurements and record product non-conformances.

Required Experience:

  1. Must have one year of previous inspection experience.
  2. Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  3. Must have experience with Samtec systems such as: Lablynx, QP Suite, GD&T, Print Vu, etc.
  4. Experience with and comprehension of component tooling drawings.
  5. Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
  6. Minimum Score of 50 on the Mechanical Aptitude Test.
  7. Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes.

 

Education:

  1. High school diploma or GED required.

 

Training Required:

  1. On the job training as appropriate.
